Membership

MEMBERSHIP, RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

 

Every Kenyan of eighteen years and above may register as a member of the party provided he or she pays the requisite fees as may be provided for by the National Executive Council (NEC) from time to time and does not simultaneously become a member of another political Party.

 

Any person who qualifies to be a member shall pay a membership fee to be determined by the National Executive Council (NEC), before he or she is admitted or registered as a member.

There shall be three (3) categories of membership. These are:-

i. Ordinary membership (to last one {1} calendar year)

ii. Seasonal membership (to last {5} years of registration).

iii. Life membership (to last a member’s life with the Party).

A person ceases to be a member if he or she dies, resigns, defects to another Party and or is expelled from the Party in writing or if he or she fails to renew his or her membership.

 

A member will be deemed to have resigned or defected if his or her actions contravene the provisions of this constitution and raise doubts as to his loyalty to the Party.

 

A member may resign from the Party in writing and his or her resignation becomes effective immediately the letter of resignation has been delivered to the National Chairperson or the Secretary General unless the National Executive Committee (N.E.C) decides otherwise.
